FORD FOCUS:
New Focus: beautifully arranged
Have a look around the new Focus.
Ford have updated the much-loved Focus to bring it fully in line with the Ford kinetic Design philosophy of ‘energy in motion’. The new Focus looks stunning, more athletic and more dynamic; the new car is improved, refined and redesigned.
This class-leading model has always been revered for its great driving dynamics, and the new Focus is no exception. From its swept-back headlights to the 'Ford Power' engine start/stop button, all parts of the new Focus work together harmoniously. This inspired us to do something rather extraordinary – craft an entire orchestra from parts of the beautifully arranged new Focus.
Kinetic Design-energy in motion
Ford’s kinetic Design direction is bold and modern. After the introduction of the S-MAX and highly successful launch of the new Mondeo, the designers at Ford were eager to apply their kinetic Design philosophy to the Focus – a car that’s known for its great driving dynamics. Every body panel on the new Focus, except for the roof, has been restyled. This dramatic makeover embraces the kinetic Design principles of energy in motion, giving the car an athletic, dynamic feel to match its agile drive.
Interior design
The interior of the new Focus has been enhanced to offer greater versatility and luxurious comfort. Special attention has been devoted to the quality of the interior, with the inclusion of a number of premium finishes.
With anti-allergy fabrics, air filters that keep out allergens, and non-fuming plastics, it is no surprise that the new Focus has won the seal of approval of both the TUV and the British Allergy Foundation.
Safety
With a 5-star Euro NCAP rating for adult occupant protection, the Focus has reinforced its excellent safety credentials.
The new Focus also features a braking system that provides total reassurance in normal driving conditions, plus the enhanced power to react swiftly when required. The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) is constantly monitoring vehicle behaviour, while Emergency Brake Assist (EBA) can significantly cut stopping distances by increasing the brake pressure in the case of emergency. The anti-lock braking system (ABS) and electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) provide extra confidence to help tackle more challenging conditions.
Superb body strength combined with lightweight impact technology makes the new Focus one of the safest cars on the road. All new Focus models have full-size airbags for the driver and front passenger as well as unique new 3-D shaped side airbags – designed to deliver a greater level of impact absorption, with greater depth and quicker deployment. Side curtain airbags complete the set-up, protecting occupants along the length of the side windows, (available in selected units).
